Concrete proof of the relationship between asbestos and mesothelioma came in to the public domain in the 1960s. The most common reason for occurrence of this disease is exposure to asbestos. In most of the cases of mesothelioma the villain is airborne asbestos fibers. 90% of the total occurrence of mesothelioma cases are connected to asbestos.
