Asbestos and mesothelioma are associated and they almost go hand in hand. Asbestos is the known cause of mesothelioma. Mesothelioma is a cancer that affects the protective lining of the lungs, heart and abdomen. It is a very fatal illness and the prognosis is not good at all.
